Some homes are meant to be shared. That’s how we felt when we first stepped into The Alcove—a historic mid-century modern home tucked away in a secret neighborhood at the end of an industrial park. It felt like stumbling upon a hidden retreat, a place so thoughtfully designed that it seemed to exist in its own world.

The home had only ever known one owner: the architect who designed and built it as his dream home. It was a masterpiece of comfort, elegance, and privacy, set on over six acres of untouched forest. We knew right away that this home wasn’t just a house—it was an experience. And so, from 2018 to 2021, we opened its doors, welcoming guests from all over to celebrate life’s biggest moments.

The Alcove became a place of joy. We hosted over 75 bookings and welcomed guests for everything from quiet weekend retreats to unforgettable events. Over the years, the home saw:

• Six large weddings, including intimate COVID-era ceremonies, where couples found a safe and stunning space to say "I do."

• Engagement parties, baby showers, surprise celebrations, and milestone birthdays, each filled with laughter and love.

• Countless gatherings where people came together to connect, celebrate, and escape into nature.

The home itself was a blend of thoughtful design and modern comfort. The 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom layout included a galley kitchen, a heated concrete basement floor, and floor-to-ceiling windows that framed the surrounding forest. Outside, the vast acreage offered guests a sense of privacy and serenity rarely found so close to the city.

The Alcove wasn’t just about the space—it was about the experience. Guests left glowing reviews, earning us a 4.83-star rating across 59 reviews, with 51 perfect 5-star ratings. They loved the home’s beauty, its peaceful setting, and the care we put into every stay. Many even mentioned our attentive communication, something we take pride in across all our properties.

Though our time hosting at The Alcove has come to an end, its story remains one of our proudest chapters. It wasn’t just a place to stay—it was a place where people came together to celebrate love, life, and everything in between.
